All applications for the Unum Life Insurance Program should be dated no later than 5/15/25.
Unum will accept applications for coverage as long as it is received no later than 5/31/25.
This only applies for existing members that either want to increase coverage or purchase new policy.
New hires have 30 days from being hired to apply for a policy.
Please note the following are reasons for a member to participate.
- NO MEDICAL IS NEEDED TO PURCHASE UP TO $200,000 FOR THE MEMEBR
- NO MEDICAL IS NEEDED TO PURCHASE UP TO $25,000 FOR SPOUSE
- AS LONG AS A MEMBER HAS PURCHASED $10,000 OF COVERAGE,EVERY YEAR DURING THE MONTHN OF MAY, AS LONG AS THEY ARE STILL AN ACTIVE MEMBER THEY CAN PURCHASE ANY AMOUNT OF COVERAGE UP TO THE MAXIMUM OF $200,000 WITHOUT ANY MEDICAL QUESTIONS (GUARANTEED ISSUED)
- THIS POLICY CAN BE CONTINUED WHEN RETIRED AT THE SAME RATES AN ACTIVE MEMBER WOULD PAY. THIS IS CALLED PORTABILITY.
